A standoff last night in Kennewick holds the SWAT team at bay for about three hours. Kennewick Police say they were following up on an investigation into some stolen vehicles on the property of 4901 West 10th Avenue last night. Two people inside came out immediately but Raymond Maust baracaded himself inside refusing to come out.
That is when the SWAT team was called in. Kennewick Police's Criminal Apprehension Team had been investigating the residence for several days.
Sgt. Scott Childs of Kennewick Police said, "They're investigating a stolen car that was actually located at the residence yesterday. They had a stolen trailer and a stolen car and they're continuing with their investigation and I don't know the particulars but our our CAT came back with a search warrant."
Police say after the use of noise flash diversion devices Maust gave himself up. He has now been booked on theft charges.
There were no injuries and an investigation continues.
