KITTITAS Wash -- Power is slowly coming back to Kittitas County after two days of powerful snow and wind storms. However, as of Saturday, several thousand homes were still with out.
Friday, the Red Cross set up shelters at three locations around the County. But only about ten showed up to the shelters so the Kittitas High School shelter was the only one to stay open.
"Because the response hasn't been too strong," said Ahnna Westrich, of the Red Cross, "we are working with to them find accommodations."
The Red Cross is booking hotel rooms and helping people contact family and friends with power so they can stay some where warm.
County officials are also going door to door checking to see how those without power are faring.
Most of the Kittitas area is still without power, as is the Hyak region and the town of Ronald.
So far there have been no deaths or injures related to the weather.
