People in Washington State can continue to use sales taxes to save money. Wednesday, the President signed a two-year extension on the state sales tax deduction.
People can itemize their state and local sales taxes and claim them as a federal deduction.
Tax payers need an IRS 600 form to get the deduction. It will be put on the IRS website next week. The form will also be made available at IRS offices, libraries, post offices, and other places that have tax forms.
It is estimated the deduction will save the average Washington family $500.
