YAKIMA, Wash -- A Yakima family is homeless after a fire damages their home.
A passerby saw heavy brown smoke pushing from the attic, and called 911.
By the time firefighters arrived, at just before 2 a.m., Sunday morning, the family was safely out of the house.
Firefighters do not know what caused the fire, but believe old wiring may have caused it.
The attic, roof and back rooms of the house were destroyed, and caused about $100,000 worth of damage.
