KENNEWICK, Wash. - A Kennewick man was arrested for threatening his wife.
Police said Daniel Winters was arrested after he threatened his wife over the phone and called her almost 500 times in the past two days.
Authorities said his wife took their son to a friend's home near Auburn, Washington. Police warned him to stop calling and arrested him went he did not stop. Winters said he was trying to contact his son.
Police encourage people to have official parenting plans when there are custody problems.
Todd Dronen with the Kenenwick Police Department said, "The parenting plan is what governs the visitation, if that's not in place you're hanging yourself out there."
Police said they deal with custody problems all the time. Winters was also arrested for unlawful possession of a gun and felony harassment. Police said alcohol was involved.
