YAKIMA, Wash. - The Department of Transportation says Tuesday should be another busy day on the roads and with heavy snow in the forecast, the DOT says people need to prepare for the worst.
DOT spokesman Mike Westbay says the best time to travel on Tuesday is in the morning. Westbay also says to know before you go, by checking the current road conditions.
He also says people need to drive slower through bad weather.
"So people need to drive to the conditions, not always to the speed limit," he said. "Often times people with four-wheel drive think they're invincible and just drive as fast as they want in whatever condition in. Four-wheel drive does help you go, but it doesn't help you stop."
Westbay says people can call 511 for current pass conditions.
