RICHLAND, Wash.- Hanford was a major issue during President Ford's time in office, but he didn't play a key role in the reservation's direction during the time.
Entering office just after the Watergate scandal, most of his time was spent cleaning up the messes left over from that.
Ford never visited the site.
At that time, production was at a standstill and things sat at the status quo during his three year tenure in office.
It was the Cold War Era though, so Hanford still stood paramount on the nation's nuclear weapons stage.
Workers say they remember things flowing steady throughout his time.
