Armed Robbery At Richland Gas Station

RICHLAND, Wash -   A young clerk working at Smitty's Conoco on Stevens Drive in Richland was robbed at knifepoint around 7:30 Wednesday night.

The man went in the store with a knife, demanded all the money and two cartons of Marlboro red cigarettes, said Richland Police Sergeant Chris Vowels.

The suspect ran away,  headed north, behind the store. Soon after, a Benton County K-9 tracked the area, but police believe the suspect left in a car.

The 22-year-old woman working at the store, and a 40-year-old customer were not hurt.

The suspect is described as a white man, 25-40 years old, about 5'11" to 6' tall, and 160-180 pounds.

He was wearing a tan Carhartt hooded jacket, dark blue jeans, white socks on his hands and a tan beanie with eye cutouts.
