WASHINGTON- Washington Senators Maria Cantwell and Patty Murray move into new spots.
Cantwell is now a member of the finance committee, while Murray becomes the Senate's top ranking woman.
Cantwell introduced a bill Friday that would make the state's sales tax deduction permanent.
"We got another extension two years on the sales tax deduction, but we want Washingtonians to have a permanent sales tax deduction from the federal income tax," Senator Cantwell said.
Local democratic leaders say the two Senator's experience garners respect that should allow them to get the job done.
