YAKIMA, Wash -- High gas prices have consumers turning away from SUVs to more fuel efficient vehicles.
"I drive 200 to 300 miles a day in my job," said Jeff Dowdy, of Yakima. Dowdy is in sales and can rack of large gas bills each month.
Today he was looking at hybrid vehicles at the Yakima International Auto show. A recent study by KPMG shows that 83% of auto executives say hybrids will be the most popular vehicles during the next five years.
Dowdy didn't purchase one today, but thinks he might in the future if gas prices stay high.
