KENNEWICK, Wash. - A man was hit in the head with a tire iron after he complained that people were urinating in his apartment complex's parking lot.
Police said a car broke down near the Highlander Apartment Complex on West 4th Avenue and men in the car got out and began urinating in the parking lot.
A tenant complained to the men and a fight broke out. Police found the suspected attacker, 22-year-old Juan Antonio Contreras nearby and arrested him for first degree assault.
Kennewick Police Corporal Brian Weatherbee said, "He was charged with an assault in the first-degree which is a serious assault charge because you could actually kill someone by hitting them with something like a tire iron."
The victim was taken to Kennewick General Hospital and was not seriously hurt. Police said Contreras is a documented gang member and so far the other men involved have not been identified.
