Hay Prices near Record Highs

KENNEWICK, Wash.- Hay prices are up once again this year after almost no residual from 2005 and a low 2006 crop.

Reports show that a bale of hay that may have gone for only $3 or $4 in previous years are now going for as high as $10 in some areas.

Rain hurt the crops before first cutting and lowers yields in future cuttings.

An estimated 90% of this years crop is already sold.
