KENNEWICK, Wash. - Police said a 10-year-old boy and his mother were almost hit by bullets while they were inside their Kennewick apartment.
It happened early Sunday morning at 1914 West Fifth Avenue.
Bullets pierced the front of the apartment and police are looking for the suspects.
A person who lives in the apartment said the boy was playing video games and his mother was praying when the shots were fired. No one was hurt but police said this was a very close call.
Kennewick Police Sergeant Brian Swartswalter said, "Move over two feet and we could have had two homicides instead of a house with holes in it. This could have easily turned into a much more tragic event."
Sources close to the case said the attack was gang related. Witnesses described a black Chevy pickup truck leaving the area after the shots were fired.
Police are looking for anyone who might have any additional information.
