Parents are upset over sale of sex toys to children

KENNEWICK, Wash. - A local mother said she's upset a store in the Columbia Center Mall is selling adult sex toys to anyone who wants to buy them, even kids.

The women did not want us to use her name but said she was shocked to see adult toys for sale out in the open while she was shopping with four kids.

Spencer Gifts said they can legally sell the goods in the store and online to minors because they're considered adult novelty products, not sex toys.

Regardless of what they're called, many parents said they won't be shopping at the store any time soon.

"The more our children are exposed to this kind of stuff the more likely they're gonna use it and do inappropriate things... that's the hard part," said one upset mother.

There is a small sign posted next to the bachelorette novelties warning the products are for mature audiences.  When we asked the store manager for a comment about the issue, he said he had no comment on the toys.
