TRI-CITIES, Wash. - A layer of ice was forming across our roads and highways Tuesday night as temperatures dropped into the teens.
Department of Transportation crews were busy de-icing the roads as police were busy responding to wrecks. Crews used a mix of a solid and liquid de-icer to try to clear the roads of the compact snow.
Officers in Kennewick alone had over 60 wrecks in a span of 24 hours and Washington State Patrol Troopers had every available trooper on the road Tuesday tonight.
Every agency across our region said almost every single one of the wrecks could have been prevented if drivers would have slowed down.
