KENNEWICK, Wash. -- Daffodil's signal the end of a long winter, but they also help the American Cancer Society collect money.
Tonight kicks off Daffodil Days, where Cancer Society volunteers call friends, family members, and local organizations asking them to buy daffodil bouquets.
A new addition to the fundraising this year: teddy bears-- they are 25-dollars each. Bouquets are $10, $15 with a vase.
The gifts are then delivered to cancer patients at local hospitals.
The American Cancer Society's Wendy Bodnar says, "The daffodil is a symbol of hope. Their the first flower of spring and it's just an opportunity to raise awareness that we're hoping to find a cure for cancer."
Orders will be accepted until February 16th and the flowers will be delivered March 11th and 12th. To buy a bouquet or volunteer call the Cancer Society at 783-1574.
