YAKIMA, Wash -- Global warming is happening and its affecting our way of life.
That is what members of the Yakima Rotary Club heard Thursday from Dr Miles McPhee -- A polar region and global warming expert from Nile, Washington.
McPhee told a crowd of two hundred, that burning fossil fuels is already increasing temperatures and melting polar ice caps. In coming years it will affect the levels and availability of water in our region.
Fortunately, he says fewer people are skeptical of global warming today than ten years ago now that awareness is on the rise. McPhee believes, the next step is convincing people limiting the use of fossil fuels won't wreck the economy.
