YAKIMA, Wash -- Prevention is the key factor for reducing your risk of heart disease.
Saturday, Yakima Memorial Hospital offered free health screening for anyone who wanted to check the health of their heart.
Staff from the hospital and local nursing students were on hand to test total cholesterol, blood pressure and body mass indexes. Health official say those simple test can help save your life.
"Those are all indicators of where you are with your heart health," Lynda Boggess, a registered nurse at Memorial, "and can give you an idea where you might want to make some changes or improvements.
Yakima Memorial will offer the free health screening again next Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2p.m.
