YAKIMA, Wash -- Washington's Fire Marshal is urging all commercial property owners to check their fire sprinkler systems.
Six years ago, it was discovered that sprinkler heads manufactured by the Central Sprinkler Company were defective. Central, now owned by Tyco Fire and Safety Products, announced a recall of the sprinkler heads because, overtime, the O-ring is likely to hardened. Tyco will pay for all replacement parts and labor.
Washington's Fire Marshal says there are still many Central sprinkler heads out in commercial properties and its not safe.
