PASCO, Wash. - Pasco police and city engineers are cracking down on Road 68 where they say drivers are not paying attention to the road. It's one of the busiest streets in the city and officers said too many drivers are getting into wrecks.
As the city grows new stores like Wal Mart and Lowe's on Road 68 keep drawing in traffic. The congestion is getting worse and many drivers are not paying attention to the road.
Police said people are following too closely, are speeding, and making illegal lane changes. The violations are all adding up to wrecks that take up officer's time and are causing traffic back-ups.
City engineers and police are teaming up to work on traffic lights and surrounding roads to get to the root of the problem.
