KENNEWICK, Wash.- The Kennewick and Richland City Councils are discussing the expansion of Columbia Park through a joint committee.
The committee is planning a meeting with Tri-River Sports Facilities to talk about their plans to commercially develop the area.
In June, preliminary plans were submitted to the two cities.
The company plans on putting in a variety of commercial development like a water park and mini golf course.
Now, the developer is looking for an extension before they submit their next proposal.
"They'll be presenting more detail to the concept that was presented in June of 2006," said Russ Bertner with the City of Kennewick.
There is no timeline yet as to when the meeting will take place or when construction would start.
Richland and Kennewick have to work together on the issue because the project straddles the edges of both cities.
