KENNEWICK, Wash. - Fights, drunk drivers and rowdy crowds are all too common on the weekends in downtown Kennewick.
In an effort to prevent problems police and troopers are beefing up patrols in the parkade after midnight.
Police said the crowds are much different during the day.
Kennewick Police Sergeant Brian Swartswalter said, "We send more police to the parkade anytime after midnight because you have a lot more people drinking. It just tends to prevent problems when you have a good police presence."
Police said outdoor urinating and people littering are concerns but the bar owners do a good job of cleaning up the mess.
