YAKIMA, Wa - Businesses at the Westpark Mall say the new Walgreens is already bringing more people to the mall.
The pharmacy has been open for about two weeks now, but businesses in the mall had to deal with construction for months. And some had to change locations to make room.
But now that Walgreen's is finally open, they say it's having an immediate impact on their business.
"I think so, we've been busier the last two weeks," says Dolores Angotti, owner of Ballesteri's Cafe, "We've been growing right along since we moved from our old location to our new one, but in the last two weeks, I've noticed foot traffic is up and people are dropping in to see us. I think it's a positive thing."
Businesses are happy with the increase in foot traffic from the new Walgreen's, but one customer said parking can be a problem some times. That customer also said turning into the mall off 40th Avenue can be a little tricky, but Angotti says that was a problem before Walgreen's.
