Bomb Scare in Western Washington

WOODINVILLE, Wash. -- Some cartoon props have created quite a stir in Western Washington and Boston, Massachusetts today. The electronic signs have also been seen in Portland and seven other U.S. cities.

The electronic cartoon signs were found again Wednesday in Woodinville. They have been found there since Monday. Police say the scary part about them is that the battery pack is taped on, making it look like the devices could be explosive.

The media giant, Turner Broadcasting, has said that it was using the signs as a publicity stunt for a late night cable cartoon show. But, Kennewick Police say that no matter what the device is it is important to check it out. They say it is better to be safe than sorry.

Also on Wednesday, Peter Berdovsky was arrested for setting up similar devices in Boston. Kennewick police say that if a similar situation happened here, police would secure the area and then call in the Richland Bomb Squad.
