YAKIMA, Wa - On Saturday Governor Gregoire will travel to Yakima -- to attend the memorial service for a local soldier.
Maj. Alan Johnson was killed by a roadside bomb last Friday in Iraq.
The memorial service happens Saturday at 2pm at the Yakima Readiness Center.
500 to 600 people are expected to attend.
The Westboro Baptist Church from Kansas plans to protest at the service, but the governor will sign off on a bill tomorrow that will require them to stay at least 500 feet away.
