KENNEWICK, Wash. -- Copper thefts have become all to common in our area. But one state representative is trying to make would-be thieves think twice.

Judy Warnick of Moses Lake wants to increase copper theft penalties to slightly over a year in prison. She says now copper thieves spend only one or two days in county jail.
