YAKIMA, Wash -- A Yakima family is homeless today after their house caught fire early Sunday morning.
West Valley fire fighters responded to the 4900 block of Ahtanum road just after 4 a.m. When they arrived, the farm house was fully engulfed in flames.
The couple who lived there both made it out of the house safely, but several dogs died. The entire house was completely destroyed.
"The house is probably about 90 years old as best we can tell," said Lt. Tom Stoothoff\, of the West Valley Fire Department, "so its one of the oldest farms in the area."
Fire Fighters are still trying to figure out what caused the fire. The couple who lived there are staying with family in Yakima.
