HERMISTON, OREGON - The bodies of two women were taken out of a Hermiston home Tuesday night after a fire tore through it earlier in the afternoon.
The double wide trailer in the 900 block of Stockton Avenue was gutted by the flames. Crews got the emergency call just after 1 o'clock in the afternoon and said there were flames pouring from the front window.
The medical examiner removed the bodies from the scene and is expected to have an autopsy done within the next few days.
A Hermiston Police Officer is standing watch at the scene of the fire until investigators return in the morning. Oregon State Police along with fire investigators will start sifting through the home looking for any evidence that indicates what started the blaze. They'll also be looking for any suspicious activity.
As of 11 o'clock Tuesday night, the Hermiston Police Department had still not released the names of the victims. They said there may still be some family members who have not been notified of the deaths.
