State Gets High Marks on AP Tests

YAKIMA, Wa -   Washington State is scoring high marks on advanced placement tests.

More than 14% of all high school students in the state earned a scored of three or better on an AP test. That's a 6.5% increase from 2000.  The six year gain now puts Washington among the top four states in the nation.

AP research shows high school students who earn a three or better are more likely to do better in -- and graduate from -- college.

Three is the minimum score to receive college credit.
