YAKIMA, Wash -- Construction work on River Road continues -- but the mail delivery in the neighborhood won't.
This week, the U.S. Post Office sent letter to residents of the neighborhood saying "the letter carrier in this area will no longer be able to safely attempt delivery in this construction zone."
So now homeowners like Jackie Seaton must drive across the city to the Post Office on Washington Avenue.
"I figure just traveling is a half an hour," said Seaton, "but we have no idea what the lines will be like in there. We're talking about hundreds of families around here."
The letter did not say when mail service would resume.
