RICHLAND, Wash.- New Washington State University President Dr. Elson S Floyd was in Richland Monday to visit WSU Tri-Cities and talk about his goals for the campus.
Floyd says he hopes the school can continue to work on developing and maintaining the local corporate relationships he says add greatly to education at the Tri-Cities campus.
Floyd and outgoing President V. Lane Rawlins answered questions and talked to the public Monday. Floyd says among the things that make a small campus like WSU Tri-Cities unique, things like the new biosciences building that should open in the spring.
Floyd doesn't take over until later in the year.
He said he's confident in the leaders at WSU Tri-Cities, so he'll leave much of the local decision making up to them.
