YAKIMA, Wash -- Yakima has been chosen as one of ten pilot cities for a new immigration test. This week the U.S. Department of Citizenship and Immigration services began administering the new test
Today, volunteers in Yakima began taking the new test. There is no risk for those who volunteer. If they fail the new test, they can simply take the current test.
Immigration officials say once 6,000 volunteers take the test, they will analyze the nationwide results.
They hope to create a better test with focus on civics and U.S. history topics, rather than the general range of topics on the current test.
