Governor Allocates Money for Hanford Reach Interpretive Center
RICHLAND, Wash.- Washington Governor Christine Gregoire is helping out with the building of the new Hanford Reach Interpretive Center in Richland.
The Governor has set aside $1 million in her new budget for the $52 million museum.
The center would feature the history of the region, the Hanford site and Hanford Reach.
Gregoire thinks it can help bring more tourism to the region.
"It's important to look to the future after cleanup, and realize that I think we can count on a good industry of tourism to come there and investment in that heritage center will be important," she said.
A funding push for the Center started in November.
