KENNEWICK, Wash. - A man pulling dozens of pounds worth of stolen wire was spotted by an eyewitness but took off before police arrived.
Police suspect the man was on his way to try to cash the reels of wire in at a metal scrap yard.
The eyewitness said the man had a dolly hooked up to the back of his bike and was pulling the reel of wire down a Kennewick road.
Police said this case is a perfect example of community policing. They said the eyewitness thought the situation looked suspicious and called police.
The suspect took off on foot and left the the goods behind.
The wire was so heavy, it took two police officers to take it into evidence.
