A Woman Claims Suspect Forced her Hand onto Him

KENNEWICK, Wash. - A woman said a man tried to shake her hand at a busy shopping center, then forced her to touch him in an inappropriate place.

The alert victim in the case helped police track down the 19-year-old suspect.  As soon as the suspect grabbed her hand and forced her to touch him, the victim ran.  But he did not get away before the victim got a good description of him.

The incident happened on Sunday morning.  When police changed shifts that night an officer thought he might know who was responsible for the crime.  The officer put together a photo line up where right away the victim pointed out her alleged assailant.

"One of the officers on graveyard worked in the Benton County Jail for a while and when he heard the physical description and what the crime was he had a potential suspect," said Kennewick Police Sergeant Brian Swartswalter.

Richland Police knew where Chance Edward Taylor Booker lived on George Washington Way and helped Kennewick Police arrest him for indecent liberties.

Police warn anyone who may have gone through the same ordeal to come forward and talk to them.
