Yakima Police Arrest Stabbing Suspect

YAKIMA, Wa -  Yakima Police have arrested the suspect they believe is responsible for stabbing five people outside an night club in downtown Yakima.

The incident happened around 9pm, shortly have a talent search for rappers ended at Pete's.

Police say 21-year-old Israel Santillan stabbed five people in an argument over who should have won the competition.

Police say they arrested santillan several hours later at his home in Zillah.

"We were learning very early on that the suspect was an associate of one of the rap groups that had competed," says Captain Copeland, "From that point, just a matter of talking to the right people, going to Zillah and making the arrest."

Captain Copeland says Santillan faces five counts of 1st degree assault.

Three of the five stabbing victims are still in the hospital, but none of the injuries are life threatening.
