Wapato Shooting Injures Two

WAPATO, Wash. - Two teenage girls have been shot in Wapato overnight.  Police say one was shot in the shoulder and one was shot in the leg.  Neither of their injuries are life threatening.

Police got a call around 3:45am reporting two 14-year-old girls who had gunshot wounds.  The call came from 50 Egan Lane in Wapato.

The shooting is believed to have occurred on Campbell Road, just outside of Wolf Point Housing.

The Yakima County Sheriffs say that the victims have not been forthcoming with information on the incident.  After they were shot, they did not call police, but went to local houses asking for help.  Eventually one person did call the police, at that Egan Lane location.

The two girls were taken to local area hospitals, where they are being treated for their injuries.

If you have any information on this case, call the Yakima County Sheriff's office.
