Developers Unveil Plans for Luxury Resort in Yakima Valley
YAKIMA, Wa - Developers have unveiled plans to build a 70-million dollar resort community about 15 miles east of Yakima.
'Eagle Resort Development', 'Portal West Corporation' and 'Craig Schultz Properties' will build a 500-acre resort with an 18-hole golf course. They're calling it 'The Vineyards.'
Homes won't come cheap. They start at $250,000 -- and go up to more than a million, but developers believe there's a demand for a destination resort.
"Yakima deserves a community that will provide what I would call substantial amenities and quality that will justify that price and we're very confident that will occur," says Richard Barnes of Eagle Resort Development.
The project could generate between 100 and 150 construction jobs a year for the next six to eight years.
