KGH's New Walk-In Clinic
KENNEWICK, Wash. - Kennewick General Hospital is opening a new Walk-In Clinic Friday. Staff said the clinic will treat patients without appointments.
It's one of a series of buildings planned for Kennewick's Southridge area. Although small compared to other projects staff said it will have a big impact.
The clinic opens Friday morning at 8 a.m. Staff said it's designed to handle people with illness, sports physicals, and minor emergencies.
The clinic will have a doctor and nurse on staff, open six days a week. They said it's place for people who typically go the emergency room.
"They come in for things like a sore throat, or they come in because they have a child with a fever. This is a much better place to take them. It's more comfortable, it's a quieter environment, and they get in quicker," said Lisa Larson, Kennewick General Hospital.
Thursday the staff finished up some final details, but they anticipate the clinic should be ready to open Friday morning for patients and a ribbon cutting ceremony.
