KENNEWICK, Wash. - A Washington State Patrol Trooper is in the running for top honors.
He has already won top trooper for the district in 2006 and now there are eight candidates he is competing against in the entire state.
Trooper Brad Neff is responsible for hundreds of drunk driving arrests throughout the Tri-Cities and his supervisors are singing his praise.
They said he has single-handedly made our roads safer with his work. Trooper Neff is up for Washington Trooper of the Year. He said it is still a pleasure to work as a trooper.
Neff said he really enjoys the variation that the job brings. He said, "Each and everything you do is different, from each person you deal with, to each contact you make. It's all different."
Neff also volunteers throughout the community. He helped warn students of the dangers of drinking and driving with a program called Every 15 Minutes.
