WSP says Body Found Likely Tied to Earlier Accident

Posted: Updated:
YAKIMA, Wa -  Washington State Patrol says a body found yesterday afternoon in Moxee is more than likely tied to an accident that happened early Saturday morning.

Troopers say friends found 30-year-old Ryan Holwegner's body along State Route 24 near Deeringhoff Road.

WSP was called out to the scene at about 4pm yesterday afternoon.

Troopers say Holwegner's body was two hundred feet from an accident that happened early Saturday morning.

They say the person found with the car at the scene of the accident - Zachary Sluder - appeared to be drinking and said he was alone at the time.

"We're at the early stages of this investigation and we are taking the stance of a felony investigation," says Sgt. Ed McAvoy of Washington State Patrol, "So we are looking at who was driving, occupants in the vehicle, and their position in the car.  Lots of loose ends to tie up."

Troopers are looking for information from witnesses to prove the two men were in the car together when Sluder crashed.
