WEST RICHLAND, Wash. - West Richland Police said burglaries and thefts are down after they recently arrested people involved in a property crime ring.
Police said the case is still growing and more arrests are expected.
Authorities said a month ago police arrested four people involved in the ring. They found a lot of evidence in a house on Grosscup. During the entire investigation many stolen items were recovered.
Detectives said there are more people spread throughout the Tri-Cities that are involved and said these criminals are stealing from each other, trading thousands of dollars of stolen property for drugs or money.
West Richland Detective Theresa Morrell said, "They're using it as a bargaining tool for whatever they need."
Police said there are many other people involved. There are a number of storage units throughout the Tri-Cities where the criminals keep their stolen property.
