KNDU-TV & HydroInsider.com offer $15,000 package to help keep Water Follies afloat
KENNEWICK, Wash - KNDU-TV & HydroInsider.com have offered to help underwrite the cost of the 2007 hydroplane race and airshow with a sponsorship package totaling in excess of $15,000 in cash, trade, and advertising.
KNDU-TV has provided live coverage of Water Follies weekend for more than a decade. Four years ago, the live coverage was extended to include race coverage of the Friday night exhibition known as the "Dash for Cash."
In 2006, KNDU-TV entered into a 3-year agreement with the Water Follies board and local marketing agency, The Maurer Group, to provide Live TV and internet coverage of the Tri-Cities hydroplane racing.
KNDU-TV carried 10 hours of continuous Live coverage of hydroplane racing, with play-by-play, multi-camera coverage of every heat and race. That coverage was shown Live in the Tri-Cities, Yakima, and Spokane areas and available on Video on Demand on Charter Cable in Spokane and Seattle. The broadcast was made available to more than three million viewers throughout the Northwest.
HydroInsider.com streamed the races Live - the first of its kind in the nation - in their entirety in 2006.
