Man Claims $250K Lottery Ticket

It was only the second time 22-year-old Gonzalo Mendoza had ever played the Washington lottery, and this morning he found out he won a quarter million dollars.

About seven this morning he was getting gas and decided to double check his lottery ticket -- that's when he found out he had won $250,000 dollars in the second tier of the mega millions lottery.

He was only one number away from winning the jackpot, which is now up to $267 million dollars.

Mendoza says he wants to share the money with his entire family...

"Well I'm planning to buy my family a house, maybe a car if I have a little bit after leftover," Mendoza said before he laughed and wiped his face nervously.

After a 25 percent tax was taken from his winnings, Mendoza walked away with $187,500.

The drawing for the $267 million dollar Mega Millions jackpot will be this Friday.
