DOT says Two Weeks Before They Know Best Way to Fix Naches River Bridge
YAKIMA, Wa - The Department of Transportation expects a full report on the Naches River Bridge in about two weeks.
A consultant came out to look at the bridge earlier this week.
Last summer, a semi truck carrying a crane tore off horizontal beams for the bridge and bent the vertical beams from the impact. DOT hopes to use a heat straightening straightening system to push the bridge back into place.
The report will tell them if that's possible. If not, they say the project could cost significantly more and block traffic there for days.
