BENTON CITY, Wash. - What started off as a traffic stop turned into a meth bust after Washington State Troopers found drugs inside a car.
Troopers said two men that were in the car were arrested in Benton County.
Troopers said they found meth, a digital scale, drug packaging materials and possibly a meth pipe inside the suspects car.
The driver was headed westbound on I-82 just before the 395 Kennewick exit when troopers pulled him over for speeding.
Troopers said the two suspects that were in the car supplied them with Oregon licenses.
Troopers said meth is a huge problem in the area. Trooper Brian Luedtke said, "It is a top priority for all law enforcement to stop the running of the meth and the trafficking of it, so it's very important to get this stuff off the street not just the people but the drugs as well."
Tuesday night troopers said they were working on getting a search warrant so they can do a detailed search of the suspect's car sometime on Wednesday.
