Hermiston Marijuana Bust

HERMISTON, Ore. -- A package coming all the way from Houston, Texas leads to a drug bust in Hermiston.

The Houston Police Department told Hermiston Law Enforcement that dogs had smelled marijuana in a box addressed to Hermiston.

When the box arrived in Hermiston, police got a search warrant for the house it went to, on the 400 block of West Orchard Avenue.

Inside, they found a 6-pound block of marijuana. Neighbors couldn't believe it. Lindsey Powell says, "I was shocked. I would not want my cousins around that thing."

Along with the marijuana, police say they also found pipes, scales, and packaging materials in the house. Each suspect was arrested on seven counts, including unlawful delivery of marijuana within one-thousand feet of a school.

Three suspects: Mark Garza, Ronnie Moore, and Samantha Baker were taken to jail. Hermiston Police say they will continue to look into whether other people are involved in the case. At this point, they don't believe the kids from the nearby schools were involved.
