Pasco Firefighters Union Apologizes for Not Attending Pfister Memorial

Posted: Updated:

PASCO, Wash.- The Pasco Firefighters Union Local 1433 has taken out a large ad in the Giant Nickel apologizing for their absence at the Memorial Service for fallen Marine Sergeant Travis Pfister and thanking the Kennewick and Richland Departments for attending.

Pasco Fire Chief Greg Garcia said he didn't allow one of his trucks to be used in the memorial because he didn't want it taken out of service.

Union 1433 President Don Donais said he and his fellow firefighters are embarrassed by these actions and want to make it clear that that is why they were not in attendance.

Off-duty firefighters were allowed to attend and some did show up, but no equipment was allowed to be used.
