New Law Will Speed Up Border Crossing in the Future

YAKIMA, Wa -  Governor Gregoire signs into law a new measure that will keep border crossing between Washington and British Columbia moving.

The legislation approves enhanced driver's licenses which can be used to cross the border rather than a passport.

The new licenses will cost $40, less than half the cost for a passport.

They'll also take less time to order.

The law is in response to a travel initiative that will require a passport to cross borders in june, 2009.
