Speed Limit Changes in the works for Electric Cars
OLYMPIA, Wash.- Washington Legislature is expected to pass a bill that would increase the speed limit for electric cars on city streets.
Before long, speed limit for electric cars could increase to 35 miles per hour. The current limit is 25 miles per hour, under a law passed four years ago, making these electric cars what most people thought were souped-up golf carts.
Dealers, like Mike Olson Dodge in Yakima think increasing the speed limit to 35 would increase sales. Salesmen here at Mike Olsen Dodge tell me the going rate for electric cars anywhere between $6,000 and $14,000.
